The deal

You pay $10 once. You get lifetime access to docstead. That's it. No subscriptions, no recurring charges, no surprise fees.

The trial

You get 7 days free to try everything. No credit card required. After 7 days, your documents stay safe but become read-only until you pay.

Your responsibilities

• Remember your password — we cannot recover it, ever
• Keep backups — export your data regularly if it's important
• Don't be evil — don't use docstead for illegal stuff

Our responsibilities

• Keep your data safe — encrypted, backed up, secure
• Keep the service running — we'll do our best
• Be honest — no dark patterns, no tricks, no upsells

What “lifetime” means

As long as docstead operates. We run lean—no offices, no investors demanding growth. Our infrastructure (database, hosting, domain) is prepaid for years ahead. This isn't a promise of forever, but a business designed for longevity, not a quick exit.

Refunds

No refunds. You get a full 7-day free trial to test everything before paying. If it's not for you, just don't pay. Once you pay, that's it. It's $10 for lifetime access — we keep things simple.

Content ownership

Your documents are yours. We can't read them anyway (encryption), but even if we could, we'd have no rights to them. You own everything you write.

Service changes

We might add features. We won't remove core functionality you paid for. If we make major changes, we'll let you know (on the site, since we don't have your email).

The boring legal stuff

The service is provided “as is.” We're not liable for lost data, though we'll try our hardest to prevent that. This is a small project, not a Fortune 500 company with insurance policies.
